Sustainability is an increasingly prominent agenda in the civil construction industry, and we are thrilled that the focus on this topic is becoming more relevant, as will be evidenced by COP 28, which will take place in Dubai later this year. At SPOL, the pursuit of sustainable development is present every day.

Environmental concern is an element we incorporate into each of our projects. The ESG agenda has been part of SPOL’s culture for many years, starting with the conception of the Clarion Hotel in Trondheim, which was the first sustainable hotel in Norway, designed and developed by our office.

Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond project boundaries. We constantly strive to train our professionals to always have global protocols in mind. We seek to align our buildings with sustainable certifications such as LEED, exploring innovative solutions for the construction of green cities! After all, we understand that delivering positive results for our clients also entails minimizing environmental impacts.
During the development of our projects, building performance studies are conducted using simulations of our BIM models. By leveraging technology, we gain a broader perspective for selecting appropriate green solutions that can be implemented seamlessly. We consider factors such as optimal building placement on lots, taking into account natural elements like solar trajectory, winds, and green areas. This helps us determine the need for features like brise-soleils, strategic positioning of openings for cross ventilation, reuse of non-renewable resources, lighting efficiency, energy efficiency, and concern for the air we breathe.

This passion for responsible architecture is reflected in every stroke we conceive, aligning creativity with environmental responsibility. We invite you to explore our portfolio and join us on this journey toward consciously built cities in harmony with the environment.
