In the step by step refurbishment of the 5th floor of Aker Brygge Shipyards, the aim was to make efficient use of the space as well as logical divisions between office areas for Frontline and attractive office spaces to let out. At the same time the project had to adapt to both the existing building fabric and interior design solutions from different decades, so that as little as possible needed to be demolished and rebuilt.
Both the plan and the design emphasises on bringing the view and daylight from the atrium and the facades as far into the building as possible, thereby creating airy and comfortable work spaces for adapted to the densely populated office environments, typical for the shipping industry, where one needs to work closely together.
